Job Summary:

The Director of Corporate Outreach and Training works under the direction of the Dean of Petrocelli College of Continuing Studies and the Associate Dean of Continuing Education and Learning Outcomes Assessment. The Director is responsible for growing the number of companies and organizations that utilize the credit and non-credit programs offered by Petrocelli College of Continuing Studies to provide for their employees’ education and training needs. The Director is responsible for establishing, maintaining and cultivating customized education and training programs, and developing relationships with area employers. The incumbent researches and analyzes business information, evaluates target markets, creates prospect lists, generates leads, conducts outreach calls, and writes and presents formal education and training proposals. The Director also participates in the identification of emerging credentials and the development of new programs tailored to meet the latest in-demand needs of corporate and government partners.

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in business, management, adult training or education; master’s degree preferred.

2. Four years of experience managing sales and marketing; preference given to candidates with prior experience managing the sale and marketing of continuing education programs.

3. Experience designing, developing and implementing successful professional development programs, courses, seminars or workshops within higher education preferred. Knowledge of workforce, and business and industry workforce skills needs.

4. Computer proficiency for data management, spreadsheet and word processing applications. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to effectively use the internet to research companies and generate leads.

5. Well-developed public speaking and presentation skills.

6. Excellent oral and written communications and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with faculty, deans and external constituents.

7. Strong organization skills and attention to detail.

8. Demonstrated ability to work well independently and take initiative. Project Management experience preferred.

9. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.

10. Valid driver’s license and accessibility to transportation for travel to employer location and off-campus events.

11. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
