Job Summary:

The Athletic Equipment Specialist assists with maintenance for indoor and outdoor athletic facilities, and monitors the use and maintenance of all athletic related equipment within the Athletic Department. Under the direction of the Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities/Operations and Sports Medicine, and guided by the Athletic Facilities and Equipment Specialist, provides field maintenance in accordance with established athletic procedures and schedules.

Required Qualifications:

1. Previous experience related to athletics, or work experience in a college or university setting.

2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with university staff, students and the general public. Ability to respond to a wide range of inquiries and situations

3. Ability to work effectively with an internationally diverse student workforce.

4. Ability to perform manual labor, including the ability to lift 50 lbs.

5. Must have First Aid and CPR certification or obtain them during the 90 Introductory Period.

6. Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record in accordance with the university‚Äôs Motor Vehicle Policy. A MVC check will be required at the time of hire and thereafter as deemed appropriate by the university. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the MVC check.

7. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security card.
